{"id":64,"date":"2006-10-04T21:43:43","date_gmt":"2006-10-05T01:43:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kevincreamer.net\/panda\/2006\/10\/04\/testing-podcasts-recorded-on-an-ipod\/"},"modified":"2006-10-04T21:43:53","modified_gmt":"2006-10-05T01:43:53","slug":"testing-podcasts-recorded-on-an-ipod","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kevincreamer.net\/panda\/2006\/10\/04\/testing-podcasts-recorded-on-an-ipod\/","title":{"rendered":"Testing Podcasts Recorded on an iPod"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I wanted to check to see how voice memos recorded on an iPod with the XTremeMac MicroMemo work when creating enhanced podcasts in GarageBand.<\/p>\n<p>I recorded the audio in three quick segments.\u00c2\u00a0 When I connected the iPod to my computer, iTunes launched and asked if I wanted to import the files.\u00c2\u00a0 I said yes, the three files were brought into iTunes.<\/p>\n<p>I launched GarageBand and created a new podcast.\u00c2\u00a0 Rather than go through the media browser I simply dragged each of the three audio files from iTunes into GarageBand.\u00c2\u00a0 I placed them on the Male Voice track, and was able to click the empty regions, select them and delete the dead air.\u00c2\u00a0 I brought the remaining three audio clips together, plopped in pictures from a play I did at Trinity Episcopal High School, <em>Metamorphoses<\/em> (they do the best shows at Trinity), and shared the file out to my desktop as a podcast.<\/p>\n<p>The high setting on my iPod sounds pretty good.\u00c2\u00a0 I should play with the low setting to hear the difference.\u00c2\u00a0 But it was pretty quick and easy to put things together.<\/p>\n<p>The resulting podcast is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kevincreamer.net\/panda\/wp-content\/uploads\/today.m4a\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The real trick tonight is whether I can easily load the podcast from ecto or if I need to do this some other way.<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s upload and find out!<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#ff0000;\">UPDATE<\/span>: Well, I haven&#8217;t figured out how to do the enclosure properly in WordPress, but the link will let you download the file so you can watch and listen in iTunes or on your iPod.<\/p>\n<p><!-- technorati tags start --><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:right;font-size:10px;\">Technorati Tags: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.technorati.com\/tag\/GarageBand\" rel=\"tag\">GarageBand<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.technorati.com\/tag\/iPod\" rel=\"tag\">iPod<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.technorati.com\/tag\/Mac\" rel=\"tag\">Mac<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.technorati.com\/tag\/MicroMemo\" rel=\"tag\">MicroMemo<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.technorati.com\/tag\/podcast\" rel=\"tag\">podcast<\/a><\/p>\n<p><!-- technorati tags end --><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I wanted to check to see how voice memos recorded on an iPod with the XTremeMac MicroMemo work when creating enhanced podcasts in GarageBand.
