{"id":22,"date":"2006-08-19T13:16:36","date_gmt":"2006-08-19T17:16:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kevincreamer.net\/panda\/?p=22"},"modified":"2006-08-19T13:16:36","modified_gmt":"2006-08-19T17:16:36","slug":"i-read-the-news-today-oh-boy-well-almost","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kevincreamer.net\/panda\/2006\/08\/19\/i-read-the-news-today-oh-boy-well-almost\/","title":{"rendered":"I Read the News Today Oh Boy (Well, Almost)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\nI want to thank Alan for his comment on my <a href=\"http:\/\/keillor.richmond.edu\/blojsom\/blog\/kcreamer\/Technology\/?permalink=Ending-My-Second-Life.html&amp;page=comments\">post<\/a> about leaving Second Life.\u00c2\u00a0 It was enough to convince me to give Second LIfe a second chance.\u00c2\u00a0 Developments on the NMC Campus lately, like the art exhibit have been interesting.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/urlibrenovation.blogspot.com\/\">Like our own Boatwright Library<\/a>, The Malcolm Brown Library on the NMC Campus in Second LIfe has had a renovation this summer.\u00c2\u00a0 Previously the NMC&#39;s Library has had a few terminals that link your web browser to sites on the web, as well as a few books you can read if you&#39;re good with your SL camera.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nThis morning I walked through the Library and came across newspapers hanging downstairs.\u00c2\u00a0 What&#39;s more, it looks like the newspapers are fairly recent.\u00c2\u00a0 An article in the Washington Post, &#8220;Hezbollah Balks At Withdrawal From the South&#8221; is from August 15.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/keillor.richmond.edu\/blojsom\/resources\/kcreamer\/news.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/keillor.richmond.edu\/blojsom\/resources\/kcreamer\/news-tm.jpg?resize=133%2C100\" height=\"100\" width=\"133\" border=\"1\" hspace=\"4\" vspace=\"4\" alt=\"news\" \/><\/a>\n<\/p>\n<p>\nAll of a sudden I thought how cool it would be if NMC could manage to update these newspapers every day with the current edition&#39;s image.
