The latest version is 4.02 and I am running it on PHP 4.4, and I don't think you'll have a problem with PHP 5. However, if you have questions the typo3 mailinglist is an excellent resource. I'd be very interested to see how you like typo3, some folks say it is overly complicated, which it is in comparison to Drupal and WordPress, but I think its flexibility and power make up for this in the long run. Came back this morning and the site was loaded. Only took a few minutes to run through the install. Very nice.
